HOW TO FIND THE MOUNT COOLUM BOARDWALK

Hidden amongst lush vegetation is the picturesque Mount Coolum Boardwalk. The perfect sunset vantage point of both Mount Coolum and Coolum Beach! It’s just a short walk and well worth the visit if you are staying anywhere on the Sunshine Coast. It’s a super enjoyable, easy short walk for anyone (our two year old walked the entire way) and you will get some great shots! The whole area has a really cool rainforest x beach vibe and we fell in love with it.

BEST TIME TO VISIT + TIPS

Sunset is the time to visit for sure! With the sun generally setting behind Mount Coolum the sky will light up fantastically for photos. You’ll also be able to watch the surfers catching the final waves for the day whilst the sea shimmers a vivid blue.

Bring your swimwear and a surfboard with you because Coolum Beach is one stunning beach, a long golden strip of sand that seems to stretch on forever.

If you are there to snap a few pics, there is also a cool lifeguard tower that looks cool against the winding boardwalk down to the beach.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MOUNT COOLUM BOARDWALK

The Boardwalk itself surprised us at just how scenic it was. A raised walking trail through the lush Aussie bush alongside a flowing creek towards the ocean. Whilst walking along it Paige and I said to each other how we could easily live here! You will feel like you are in a completely different world to the residential streets behind.

At the end of the Boardwalk is a unique large gate structure that seems to perfectly frame Mount Coolum when you look back towards where you came from. You can then zig-zag down past the lifeguard tower to the beach.

Like anywhere this spot does get busy, especially seeing it is a great walk and a useful way of getting down to the beach.
